ACTION: forearm supination
REFERRAL: lateral elbow and wrist
COMMENTS: Strain in this muscle can be involved in Tennis elbow. The referral pattern is split, sometimes referring into the lateral elbow(tennis elbow), and other times into the lateral wrist. This muscle is under the brachioradialis, so it takes some maneuvering to get at it. It is almost always a little sore on people, since the radial nerve pierces the muscle. To work this muscle- first find it, then supinate and pronate the client's wrist while you apply pressure. They will thank you later. |
